The National Buffalo Museum will be hosting six story times this summer in correspondence with the James River Valley Library System. Due to renovations the Library will be closed until further notice starting on May 28th. These story times will be held in the children’s section of the National Buffalo Museum all starting at 10am. Our target audience is preschoolers and their parents and/or guardians.
Each month there will be a different theme to the story times. The themes are as follows: June – museums, July – Prairies, August – Bison. Our goal is to teach kids a little bit about each topic and how they can be related back to the National Buffalo Museum and our purpose. This will be done through the utilization of books and corresponding activities. The first of the two story times each month will focus on the topic itself, and the second will focus on the topics correspondence to the National Buffalo Museum.
These events are free and open to the public. Story times will range from 30-45 min depending on the length of the book(s) and the activity. Please plan to stay with your children during the story time, you might even learn something new!
