“The Business of Small Business” is Jamestown SCORE chapter’s second workshop since it incepted last year. SCORE is a group of local professionals dedicated to help new and emerging businesses. The goal is to improve economic opportunities for small businesses and to help rural communities thrive, said Dave Smette, SCORE volunteer and event organizer.
“A person who opens a bakery might be great at decorating cakes, but he or she may not know how to maintain a balance sheet or prepare for tax season,” Smette said. “This event is a great way to learn those things from local professionals.”
The event is free and open to anyone with a small business or interested in starting one.
